Founded 1974 in Loimaa, Finland, Dinolift has grown from a local enterprise into one of the global leaders in lightweight, sustainable aerial lifts. Celebrating five decades of excellence, Dinolift continues to innovate within its wide array of products and customer services. With an innovative approach, diverse product lineup, and partnership with Trackunit, the team at Dinolift can not only meet the needs of the construction industry – it can anticipate them.
As construction continues to evolve, so do the tools and technology it relies upon. The team at Dinolift has marked a significant shift in customer expectations over the years, especially regarding data integration and operational efficiency. As the market grew more complex and customers demanded more from their equipment, Dinolift took a pivotal step forward in its offering.
“Trackunit provides us with the software and the hardware, and it continuously helps us develop the MyDINO service for the future.”
Teemu Ristela, Sales Manager
Recognizing the need for innovative solutions to meet these evolving customer needs, Dinolift partnered with Trackunit to develop MyDINO, an IoT service that improves the functionality of Dinolift products through real-time machine analytics and data capabilities. This service helps the team at Dinolift in its commitment to customer-centricity, sustainability, and safety through predictive maintenance and improved fleet management.
“Thinking about us as a small manufacturer, we needed a strong partner like Trackunit to develop the MyDINO service,” adds Teemu Ristela, Dinolift’s North American Sales Manager. “Trackunit provides us with the software and the hardware, and it continuously helps us develop the MyDINO service for the future.”
“A customer needed to integrate equipment data from multiple brands,” said Ristela. “We brought that together with Trackunit and MyDINO and integrated the data into that customer’s operating systems through Trackunit’s API connections.”
“We can calculate how our customers use the machines. When we talk about ‘bi-energy,’ we can calculate how much electricity those machines use and how much they’re using gas engines.”
Ville Inkila, Commercial Manager
In Dinolift’s field operations, Commercial Manager Ville Inkila sees MyDINO as transformative. “Now that we have a telematics system in all of our new machines in the field, we can use the data we gather throughout the organization,” says Inkila. “We can calculate how our customers use the machines. When we talk about ‘bi-energy,’ we can calculate how much electricity those machines use and how much they’re using gas engines.”
The value of this machine data extends beyond R&D; it helps improve every customer interaction and creates new touch points to strengthen relationships.
Through MyDINO and its partnership with Trackunit, Dinolift has been able to add more value for its customers while improving operational efficiency. That value is something the team at RGB Inc. appreciates. “Between being able to diagnose issues faster, to being able to validate what our customer is telling us,” says Keith Girard, Operations Manager at RBG Inc. “Even being able to plan more maintenance-type schedules and figure out the best and most efficient route to do that, none of that would be possible if we didn’t have the telematics.”
Sometimes, we need to fix a machine that’s all the way on the West Coast. If we can solve that problem on the phone with the data from the telematics, we’re great,” adds Girard. “We can decipher what’s going on and fix the problem faster. And if their machine’s fixed faster, they’re going to keep making money.”
Safety is, of course, always paramount in construction. When installed, Trackunit´s Raw and Pass IoT devices help ensure that only authorized personnel operate machinery, reducing the risk associated with unauthorized use.
When Trackunit´s Access Management solutions are added as an option to MyDINO, customers can ensure their MEWPs are used correctly, safely and by the proper team members. In addition to improved Access Management, the Trackunit IoT devices provide critical insights for both regular and unscheduled maintenance, helping to ensure machines operate as they should to minimize unexpected issues or hazards.
Dinolift’s focus remains steadfast on customer satisfaction and driving innovation. “As one of Dinolift’s core values is customer centricity, we want to bring that into the data and telematics as well,” adds Ristela. “With accurate data from the telematics devices, we want to improve our customers’ fleet performance and the performance of Dinolift products in our customer fleets.”
With MyDINO, Dinolift not only marks a half-century in aerial lift innovation but also paves the way for the future with a new era of efficiency and customer satisfaction. Machines are being fixed faster, downtime is being reduced, and every piece of equipment is being optimized for performance–ensuring its customers don’t just get machines; they get a partner that puts them first.
