London, Ontario, September 21, 2022 – Global construction solutions provider Trackunit will move into a 21,000 square foot space at The Cube in downtown London in October as it looks to boost its presence in North America and attract some of the best local talent in Ontario.
Trackunit’s five-year lease neatly dovetails with London’s $1 million CAD plan voted through by councillors in June 2022 to revitalize the downtown core in the aftermath of COVID-19.
“Having a presence in downtown London with easy access to public transit, closer to Western and Fanshawe, and all the downtown amenities with a cool tech vibe is a critical component to Trackunit’s growth plans,” said Brad Kriter, Senior Director of Global Support & Solutions at Trackunit.
Trackunit will take two floors with the potential to house over 80 employees at the impressive Zedd Architecture designed building, and Kriter emphasized that the design and feel of the building itself was an essential element in taking the plunge.
“We’re supporting a hybrid work model and our hub will be a location that encourages employees to come together to collaborate and innovate,” he said. “This hub will also be the home of future community events, like hackathons and peer-to-peers, that will allow us to co-create with the community.”
Trackunit was founded in Denmark in 2003 but has rapidly expanded around the globe, building a presence in the North American market since 2016. With a specific focus on innovation in the IoT market, it is particularly keen to attract sharp-skilled engineers and keep pace with the dynamic IoT in the construction market which is expected globally to grow to $22 billion CAD by 2024.
“We’re a world class software development company and we know there is a wealth of engineering talent available locally,” said Kristoffer Debois, VP of Software for North America at Trackunit. “Our culture, principles, and ways of working are what we call The Trackunit Way. It’s what gives us an edge and a competitive advantage when it comes to attracting top talent.”
“We invest in our people and we want them to be engaged in a path where they can feel really useful in their contribution to Trackunit and by extension, the industry,” said Debois. “We intend to be a leader in the London tech market, in attracting the best talent.”
