Product Updates: January – March 2024

We started the year off strong with launches focused on enhancing workflows, adding additional value with Alerts, and delivering an IoT device that helps deliver full jobsite connectivity. Built with your feedback from the Trackunit Product Portal, this article outlines our Q1 2024 product launches.

Full Jobsite Connectivity

Trackunit Beam helps unlock true on-site connectivity by amplifying the visibility of tagged assets, bridging connections between equipment, fleets, and sites. Our Beam Gateway IoT device helps you capture full visibility, anywhere on your site, inside buildings, storage containers, or in rental or tool depots. Beam Gateway is designed to extend network reach and bring continuous visibility to tagged assets.

It’s also the only gateway device on the market that is brand agnostic, reading Trackunit Kin tags and any other third-party tag whose data is streamed through Trackunit Marketplace. Visit our dedicated Beam Gateway page to see how you can remove blind spots from your jobsite.

Enhanced Workflows

Custom Fields

Our new Custom Fields feature enables you to personalize and extend the informational capabilities of Manager to capture and organize additional metadata like never before. This empowers you to add relevant information beyond out-of-the-box metadata to any asset, which holds significant contextual value related to assets.

This launch includes both Trackunit-defined Standard Fields, which is now available in Trackunit Manager, and customer-defined Custom Fields available via API. Learn how to add metadata to your machines in this Help Center article

User Assistance

Keep an eye out for a more polished user experience hitting inboxes today. We’ve launched a new seamless setup process that enhances how you invite users to Trackunit Manager. This update includes rebranded activation emails and eliminates bottlenecks from the password reset process. The look and feel of these emails have also changed, with a cleaner layout and links to additional resources. This Help Center article walks you through how to manage users of your account.

Delivering Real-Time API Data

Webhooks empowers you to subscribe to real-time event data from your assets and have that data delivered to a system of your choice. If you need real-time data, without having to submit an API call every time, Webhooks is an easy and efficient solution for you.

This sets the foundation to speed up time-sensitive workflows and ensures urgent notifications about alerts, service statuses, faults, or Sites are at the forefront. By bringing alert events directly into your ERP systems, Webhooks ensures that critical machine issues are seen in a timely manner.

Visit our Developer Hub to walk through the concept of Webhooks and how you can leverage them in your day-to-day business.

New with Alerts

Alert Configuration API

The latest API gives you the ability to efficiently set up configurations for Alerts like custom scheduling. You can now customize different alerts within your plan like Site-Based Theft Alert, Movement-Based Theft Alert, and more all via API access. High-Impact Alert

Get real-time alerts for significant shock sensor spikes with our new High-Impact Alert. This Alert notifies you when an asset’s G-force has exceeded a defined threshold. Moving beyond this threshold (as defined by you), could indicate an accident or asset malfunction. By getting notified at the time of the occurrence, you’re able to address the situation quicker, and potentially reduce long-term damage and downtime. Alerts Available to OEMs

We’ve also unlocked new capabilities for OEMs by providing them with access to most Alerts in Trackunit Manager. Read this Help Center article to learn more about how you can work with Alerts in Trackunit Manager.
