Germany’s construction machine manufacturer SCHWING Group has agreed to a Works With Trackunit partnership with the global IoT solutions provider aimed at enabling the OEM extend the life cycle of its machines.
The partnership will initially see Trackunit fix devices to SCHWING Group’s truck-mounted concrete pumps as part of an agreement that was effectively agreed towards the end of 2023.
“We’re excited to be entering into a partnership with Trackunit and we want to use this month’s show at Intermat as the launchpad for our collaboration,” said Jens Heinrich, Head of International Marketing & Training at SCHWING Group. “We were drawn to Trackunit because it delivers a level of insight and data that we really believe can make a difference to our business model and enable SCHWING Group to service its customers even better.”
SCHWING Group, which supplies specialized equipment to the concrete industry, will be exhibiting at the Intermat show in Paris running from April 24-27.
“The machines we supply to the concrete industry are extremely specialized, high-capital investments so as we develop the connectivity of our machines, any marginal gains we can make on the data side that helps us to extend the life cycle will be a big bottom-line benefit to us,” said Heinrich. “We will also be able to know when machines needs repairs and when we need to build spare parts into the maintenance model to deliver optimal service.”
“This is also something that many of our customers want from us so they can also benefit from a more digitized model as they want to understand how to use the machines better and be more energy efficient.”
Heinrich said SCHWING Group expected to leverage Trackunit’s Sites solution to better manage its fleets between sites. “Sites will enable us to plan our allocation of resources between projects more efficiently and give us more control,” he said.
“We’re delighted to be entering a partnership with SCHWING Group and this is yet another staging post in the Works With Trackunit program,” said Trackunit CEO Soeren Brogaard. “It has gone from strength to strength and we are excited to be adding SCHWING Group to the program.”
“The more we collaborate, the more transparent we are in our sharing of data and the more we connect as an industry, the better we can engage in the battle to eliminate downtime,” he added.
