Hilti has always been a leader in construction innovation, focused on driving productivity, safety, and sustainability. As the industry moves toward increased digitalization, Hilti’s mission remains clear: to be the best partner for its customers. A critical part of that mission is connectivity—ensuring construction professionals have the right tools, data, and insights to work smarter.

Through its partnership with Trackunit, Hilti is expanding beyond traditional tool tracking to create a fully integrated, connected ecosystem that helps customers streamline operations and make data-driven decisions.

Connected tools

“All of our customers, regardless of size, are trying to figure out ways to be more productive, how they can be more digital, how they can streamline processes in the office and in the field,” says Wade.

Hilti’s ON!Track asset management system has long provided visibility into tool location and utilization, but by partnering with Trackunit, Hilti has extended its reach beyond its own tools, helping customers track and manage a wide range of equipment across job sites.

“We’ve always been focused on making construction better. Now, with Trackunit, we’re doing it faster, smarter, and more sustainably than ever before.”

Speed and efficiency

One of the most significant advancements in Hilti’s tracking capabilities has been the introduction of Bluetooth tags, like the Trackunit Kin. While the transition initially caused some concern among customers, the benefits quickly became clear.

“It seems like everything now has some sort of tracking or asset management system,” says Wade. “But ultimately, the partnership and support we’ve built with Trackunit has allowed people to be faster with what they do—whether it’s finding something, improving communication, or understanding where their equipment is. It sounds simple, but that’s what we’ve been able to establish with the network.”

With real-time tracking and a connected data network, Hilti’s customers can locate tools and equipment more efficiently, reducing downtime and improving overall job site productivity.

Productivity, safety, and sustainability

While digital adoption in construction can sometimes be challenging, Hilti believes data is the key to driving meaningful change.

“If we have technology in place that allows our customers to find better ways of working—maybe it makes them safer, maybe it makes them more productive—it’s not by chance that they find better ways to do things,” says Wade. “They’re going to need some sort of technology to allow them to understand what’s happening, analyze the information, access the data, and then make a data-informed decision.”

Hilti’s Nuron platform has already brought connected tools to the industry, but the company is taking things a step further with geo-tags launching in 2025. This addition will provide even more flexibility for tracking assets of all sizes.

“Customers have a lot of different options. They’re going to come to us and expect ways to track different pieces of equipment. We’re going to listen to them and follow their lead on what they think is needed to make construction better,” says Wade.

Safety as a standard

Hilti’s strategic focus has always been on helping customers work smarter and safer. While much of the past few years has been centered on productivity, the company is shifting its focus toward making safety a standard across the industry.

“In 2025, we continue on productivity, but we really focus on safety,” says Wade. “Being the best partner for safety means it not only comes in the safety and innovation from tools, but also safety for the end user, safety for the occupants in the buildings that are built.”

With Trackunit’s connected solutions, Hilti is ensuring that safety is embedded in every aspect of construction—not just in the tools themselves, but in the way work is planned, executed, and monitored.

“The Trackunit partnership allows us to expand well beyond our own offering and really create a connected ecosystem for our customers.”

A smarter, safer future

Through its partnership with Trackunit, Hilti is delivering more than just tool tracking—it’s building a smarter, safer, and more efficient construction industry. By leveraging connectivity, real-time data, and asset management solutions, Hilti is helping its customers stay ahead in an increasingly digital world.
